IMPORTANT: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BELOW BEFORE STARTING
Important: Your results may vary depending on the severity of your headlight's oxidation. For heavily oxidized or yellowed headlights, remove the oxidation before applying the coating for best results.
Instructions
Application conditions
-
Humidity: 70% or less
-
Wind: None or minimal
-
Temp: 10°C (50°F) or higher
-
Use in a shaded area
You'll need
-
Soap or all-purpose cleaner
-
Clean towels
-
Masking tape
Park the vehicle in a sheltered area, such as a garage or carport. Lift the hood if helpful.

Wash headlights thoroughly with soap or cleaner, rinse well, and dry completely with clean towels.
Apply a thick border of masking tape around headlights to protect paint and trim.

Note: The objective is to apply two even wet coats to the entire lens surface, including edges & corners. Spraying too closely or slowly may cause sags, and spraying too fast may cause a speckled finish.

SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE.

HOLD CAN 8 INCHES AWAY. Evenly spray the entire headlight in a grid pattern (side-to-side, then up/down), slightly overlapping strokes for full coverage.
WAIT 1-2 MINUTES, then apply a second coat.

Repeat on the other headlight.
Let air dry for approx. 20 minutes, DO NOT WIPE OFF OR TOUCH. Once fully dry, carefully remove the masking tape and close the hood.
If necessary, the vehicle can be driven once dry. Allow the coating to cure for at least 2 hours before exposing them to any moisture.

Congratulations! You've successfully restored and protected your headlights.

Can I use this product on slightly rough or yellowed headlights?
For severely oxidized or yellowed headlights, we recommend using our Heavy Duty Headlight Restoration Kit. Detour's One-Step Headlight Restoration Spray can also be used as a long-lasting lens sealant after sanding away the oxidation.

What’s the best way to clean up any overspray on my car’s paint or trim?
Accidental overspray? No problem, our coating will not damage vehicle paint and trim. To remove overspray, wet a microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol and firmly rub the affected area until clean.

What should I do if my headlights look hazy after applying the spray?
In humid conditions, you might notice a "blushed" or hazy appearance on the headlight after application: this is moisture trapped under the coating. Allow time for the product to gas off, do not touch the coating or wipe it off. Note that in severe cases, it may not completely clear up.

Is the coating removable if I want to reapply?
To remove the coating, there are two methods (in order of aggressiveness):
Method 1: Wet a microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol and firmly rub the coating until removed. Note that this process may be difficult depending on the coating thickness and cure stage.
Method 2: Wet sand the headlight until the coating is completely removed, leaving a uniform hazy appearance. Recommended wet sandpaper grit progression: 600 → 1350 → 2250
